Bren

Brennen Chase Teel

Happy Birthday Brennen!

Brennen in gardenYour middle name proved to be the perfect title for your life. Brennen you chased your dreams from the beginning. We now know that the chasing would give way to battling and conquering life; and that you made it look effortless. Cancer created a compassion in you and then you took it to a higher level.

One time, a classroom teacher who had a young cancer student asked if you would come talk to the young girl about your experiences with the treatments. You were hesitant because you didn't know what to say. My words as a Mom were: "If you go as a willing servant of the Lord. He will take care of the rest!" You called soon after with "Mom, I didn't have to say a word! The student did all the talking and just wanted to touch my hair."

Bren, you were willing to serve a need and give hope. You were chasing life through cancer, dogs, wildlife, hunting, friends and family. We encouraged you to share the simple story of Jesus and life on Earth. You Did.

You entertained everyone with stories __ blow by blow __ moment by moment. Your goal was to skip the everyday 8:00 to 5:00 work. You wanted to go from Tech to retirement - but without needing a silver spoon!

You gather friends the way most people select groceries. You walked down the aisle of life adding their lives to your grocery cart of life. You gave unconditional Love.

This gathering of family and friends represents the "groceries" you gathered during your life.

We stand in awe of you and what you have given to each of us.

"{Brennen} loves people with a force that is natural, and by natural I mean like nature, like a waterfall or wind or waves on the ocean. He loves effortlessly, as though love packs annually in snow on a mountain, melting and rushing through him in an infinite loop. There's no explanation for a man who can love this well save God. I think {Brennen} knows God, and I think God's love flows through him."

From a friend who read this in a book,

As I sit here writing this email I'm tearing up thinking about him. He was a great friend to me and such an inspiration on how to live, love, and treat others. I want you to know that I was truly blessed to have known Brennen. He will forever be Papa Teelio my great and wonderful friend.

Joseph Fielding,

Your son is the best gift God could have given me in college.

Little did I know Brennen would be the one to make me so many more home cooked meals in the future. 🙂

I truly considered him my BEST friend and confided in him. He was ALWAYS there for me and taught me so much. He taught me confidence, how to let loose, how to have fun, how to cook, loyalty, and what friendship really meant. And in return I taught him a few things too... like, how to do laundry, how to clean his house, how to go to class... Well, I tried to teach him those things. haha. It really turned into me coming over and doing his laundry, and me cleaning his house. 🙂 I didn't mind though. It was the very least I could do for him. He was so much more to me and I could never repay him.

How I wish I would have known that would be the last time I would have seem him. I would have eaten slower, ordered dessert, and sat with him as long as I could.

Mrs. Teel your son was my best friend. He was a gift from God. He taught me so much about myself and about life and I am truly honored and blessed to have called him my friend. And he LOVED you and Mr. Teel. He talked about you both all the time. I felt like I knew you myself. 🙂 He was a very proud son. (He even took me to the hospital in Rockwall to show off everything his dad had done to build it.)

Annie,
